Samsung announced its second-generation 49-inch curved display that supports FreeSync 2 technology on AMD. The new CRG9 monitor has significantly higher resolution and brightness than the first LCD C49HG90 LCD screen introduced in mid-2017.
Samsung was the first launcher to launch a family of AMD FreeSync 2 monitor supporters in the mid-2017, with the 49-inch curved C49HG90 LCD is its preference. Without any doubt, the monitor was an impressive piece of hardware, but still at $ 1,499 was not quite perfect with its resolution of 3840 × 1080 and with a light of 600 nits. Since then, many screen savers have presented their offers for FreeSync 2, but none of them was as impressive as the Samsung FS2 products. In the meantime, Samsung is working on its leading second-generation FreeSync 2 monitor.
The new Samsung CRG9 ultra-wide display is based on the new curved VA panel of the company, "Dual QHD" resolution (5120 × 1440), 1000 nits shine gloss, 178 ° / 178 ° vertical / horizontal viewing angles, 4 ms response time, and 120 Hz refresh rate. In an attempt to increase its resolution of its 3840 × 1080 main screen and 600 nits of brightness, Samsung had to reduce the refresh rate from 144 Hz to 120 Hz, which looks like a fair exchange.
Just like the previous generation of the 49-inch, the new CRG9 display has a backlit LED backlighting that provides support for DCI-P3 color space (as well as larger-sRGB spectrum) and HDR-focused on AMD's. s FreeSync 2. Talking about the HDR, the monitor fully supports the HDR10 (but Samsung does not say anything about Dolby Vision), and considering that it is a panel with the greatest light of 1000 nits, it is likely to carry the VESA sign with the DisplayHDR 1000.
Connection is wise, the new monitor supports two DisplayPorts, one HDMI input, a USB 3.0 hub and a headphone connector.
