BMW presented the strongest version of its 3 series M340i and M340i xDrive. Their public debut will take place at the Los Angeles Motor Show from November 28.
The sale of the new Bavarian brand in Europe will start in the spring of next year. Car prices will be announced later.
The BMW M340i has a 3.0-liter gasoline engine with 385 horsepower. Thanks to this unit, the sedan accelerates to 100 km / h in 4.4 seconds. The engine works with the eight-speed automatic Steptronic transmission. The maximum speed is limited to 250 km / h.
The company presented a new series 3 at the Paris Motor Show. The dimensions of the sedan are as follows: length 4709 mm, width 1827 mm and height 1442 mm. The car is 85 mm longer, 16 mm larger and 1 mm higher than its predecessor. The wheelbase size has increased by 41 mm – to 2851 mm.
The center of gravity of the BMW 3 Series drops by 10 mm and the weight distribution of the axles is perfect – 50:50. The weight of the sedan decreases by 55 kg, but at the same time the strength and durability of the suspension increases by 15-20%. The company claims that the new product has the lowest front aerodynamic coefficient in its class, which is 0.23.
In addition, the new BMW 3 Series has a completely redesigned suspension – the sedan was the first model of the Bavarian brand with special "intelligent" shock absorbers.
