Taking care of everyday details that often go unnoticed and common sense are the main factors for maintaining health at the ideal level. And thanks to this, the appropriate diet and practice of physical activity, which contribute to maintaining weight and preventing various problems, are necessary to obtain good results. "People are more and more straightforward, but health can not be thought in the short term, it is a matter of good habits, and benefits are seen day by day, year by year, throughout life," says Cardiologist at the Brazilian Society of Merciful Israel Albert Einstein, Eduardo Pesaro.
Feeding yourself in a balanced way is essential to keep your heart pounding in your chest. High cholesterol is one of the main culprits of heart disease. One of the sources of this substance is animal fat. "Therefore, a less fatty diet with more vegetables and fruits brings more benefits," explains Pesaro. The heart is one of the organs that suffer the most from unregulated food, sedentary lifestyle and habits such as smoking and alcoholism. To get an idea, cardiovascular diseases are mainly responsible for deaths in Brazil: around 300,000 a year.
Dietitian Einstein, Gabriela Bisogni, says that table re-education is one of the healthier ways. Colored dishes with vegetables and vegetables, wholesome, rich in fiber, instead of refined (eg White rice), in addition to avoiding excess salt and sugar are very beneficial means. "It is important to remember that restrictive diets do not work well and that there is a recipe for a cake. Every person has nutritional needs in line with their health history, preferences and routine," says Gabriela.
Care for the environmental conditions in which one lives is also important for maintaining the body's health. A study by Pesaro and published in the first half of this year shows a 30% increase in the number of hospitalizations in the Unified Health System (SUS) due to heart failure or heart attack during the winter in São Paulo. The cause is not necessarily cold, but the socio-environmental conditions in which people meet. In other words, they live in a low-quality apartment, which is often not a wall and is not heated.
"The study shows that due to lower temperatures, pollution and lower humidity in winter, the risk of heart disease increases," explains Pesaro. Restless, stressed and wronged people are more likely to have heart problems. Therefore, being warm when you are cold – and protecting yourself at home – looking for ways to control stress, such as regular physical exercise or meditation, there are attitudes that provide general well-being.
Einstein's pulmonologist, Humberto Bogossian, explains that dry weather reduces mechanisms that act as a protective barrier for the airways. This is because the whole respiratory system (from the moment we breathe) consists of films that act as a lubricant to let the air "go smoothly", preventing the penetration of viruses and bacteria. "Therefore, good hydration reduces the occurrence of colds, flu and nosebleeds," explains the doctor. Another tip is the daily washing of the nostrils of the serum. The use of an air humidifier in the environment also helps to protect the "roads" of the respiratory tract, but Bogossian recommends that it always be clean.
Another point to do on the list: stay up to date with the vaccines. This means avoiding headaches with avoidable illnesses such as influenza. "When we get vaccinated, we protect our body against this disease, which in some cases can worsen, and we reduce the risk of infection, which means that we protect others" – sums up the Bogosphere.
