An unusual transmission leaves the experts intrigued by the case of a Frenchman who has agreed amoebiasis. The fact was published even in the BMJ Case Reports magazine.
The parasite housed in the body of a man who did not leave France, and the disease originated from tropical countries. Normally, the infection occurs through food or water polluted by human excrement. What happened was that his wife traveled to India, Burma, Vietnam and Laos where there were little basic sanitation, except that she had no symptoms at all.
Experts concluded that a 67-year-old man was infected by the parasite during intercourse, an unusual transmission. Through anal sex or mouth contact with that region, it may be responsible for the infection.
A lack of hygiene causes the disease to multiply. It is always advisable to wash your hands after the sexual act, or to move the region to the anus.
Symptoms of amoebia are diarrhea, gas, mucous membrane and blood, gut infections, in addition to pus in the liver.
