Orange designed an "Orange Phone" with iOS and an Android call detection application that is considered spam. In its main function, it is not reserved for operator users.
The application was released late last year, but Orange did not announce, despite the free and the interest that could save the commercial claim on his mobile phone.
On iOS, once downloaded, it must be activated in the "Phone" section of the system settings, in the "Blocking and Calling Line" line. The tutorial in the application provides all the instructions that need to be followed (no registration or account creation is required, here is the help).
The application integrates with the iOS call handling interface. If the number appears to come from the search service or company, it will be indicated. When the number is on the list maintained by Orange – and enriched by application users over their own experience – the interface will display information about the possible caller profile. An overcrowded number of calls will also be detected.
Orange users have the right to service a reverse directory and to identify overcrowded calls. Others have the basic function of not responding to a call. This application can not do anything against hidden numbers or SMS-spam.
This application now has several weeks behind it, if you already use it, your feedback in the comments on its effectiveness and its limits is welcomed!
