Belgian hospitals treated a total of 4,213 patients infected with the coronavirus on Friday, 182 fewer than the previous day. On average, 244.9 hospital admissions were registered in the past seven days, which is a decrease of 29%.
All indications of epidemic evolution are also declining. Thus, from November 18 to 24, 2,546.7 contaminants with coronaviruses were detected on average every day (-36%) and an average of 143.9 deaths were reported daily (-20.2%). The 14-day incidence is also declining, with 396.7 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The incidence reported on Friday was 434.1 contamination per 100,000 inhabitants.
Since the beginning of the epidemic, Belgium has recorded 570,829 cases of coronavirus infections, a total increase of 3,297 units compared to data submitted on Friday.
The official death toll from Covid-19 reached 16,339 dead.
Between November 18 and 24, an average of over 28,600 tests were performed each day, for a positive rate of 11.5%.
The virus reproduction rate remains below the fateful threshold of 1, with an average estimate of 0.791 for the whole country.
