Google Chrome 72 is available for Windows, MacOS, Linux and Android: zooming in on new ones

After the deployment of Chrome 71 in November last year, a version that focused on blocking ad blocking too intrusive, Mountain View released the latest stable version of its web browser for Windows desktop platforms, macOS and Linux: Google Chrome 72.

This new version of Google Chrome fixes 58 different security vulnerabilities. At the same time, the ABBC affiliate confirmed the availability of Chrome 72.0.3626.76 for Android, which introduced improvements in terms of stability and performance.
In the series of new and changes introduced by Chrome 72 for desktop platforms, it can be shown who displays a replay button in the Picture-to-Image mode (PiP) and corrects the password manager's logic that determines whether the password manager is available. The AV1 decoder support is also enabled by default on the latest version of Google's web browser.

Official note notes emphasize the integration of security patches, but do not mention other major changes. The deployment of Chrome 72 coincides with the launch of Firefox 65, the browser Mozilla, which in its latest iteration focuses on supporting WebP format and open codec AV1 promising better video compression than competitors.

Most Chrome users should automatically receive the update, because Google's web browser is configured to download and install new updates, when available. Downloads are also available on the official Chrome Web site with online and offline versions of the installer.
