Smart mile tax, we already knew. A year ago, the Flemish government decided to introduce it into its territory, before tearing it down shortly before the election. In essence, the project was to make drivers pay more in a hurry.
Here is the road price now super smart, or "superlime" because KULVEV has just published a study on the subject. In this system, it is about modulates payment even during peak hours. The price will be higher during the peak. For example, if we take into account that the morning hours during traffic are from 7:10 to 9:10, users did not pay outside of these hours. It would be a matter of reducing the recommended price of EUR 6.66 to the maximum € 3.33 for drivers arriving between 7h50 and 8h50. Less efficient, but still reduce queues by 75%.
How much would it bring? The study shows earnings of between 400 and 900 euros per car, once administrative costs are deducted. Ultimately, this tax would be more beneficial to consumers than the current traffic tax, Bruno De Berger and Steph Prost argue.
