Education Minister Heinz Fasman (ÖVP) plans a debate on autumn holidays, a push for national regulation. Holidays should last from October 26 to November 2. In return, autonomous days should be sacrificed, and Easter Tuesday and Pentecost on Tuesday will no longer be free from school, Kleine Zeitung and ZiB reported tonight.

Fasman will prepare an appropriate legal proposal in the next few weeks. Holidays should be applied no later than school year 2021/2022. The ministers' initiative was preceded by talks with parents, students, teachers and representatives of the country, which did not, however, result in results. "The feedback from the last days clearly indicates in this regard: someone wants the ministry to make the decision and thus eliminate all ambiguity," Fasman is quoted in the "little".
