Since Facebook has placed the popular Whatsapp messenger for $ 22 billion, a good four years ago, the question remains whether and especially when and in what form the ads will be in the room. According to the latest information, this will happen next year. The rumors include two company founders, Jan Kouma and Brian Acton. In the end, ads should not – at least for now – be displayed directly in private chat rooms, but only in the general status area.
Nevertheless, Koum and Acton are irritated by the step. They vehemently opposed the introduction of advertising even after the sale, but since then they left the company – partly because of the insurmountable differences with the new owner in this respect. It was not just about advertising as a potential source of misunderstandings, but in particular about the sovereignty of their users' data and security aspects. For example, Acton suggests that ad integration can partially remove encryption for related communication between users and companies.
Acton now also reacted with the small return trainer and gave security programmers and the chic Whatsapp "Signal" donor over $ 50 million. To spread this word to the widest possible audience, he spread messages on Twitter.
