Thursday afternoon: Three licensed arrives at Racing Victoria for questioning

Trainer Darren Weir, assistant trainer Gerald McLean and stable employee Tyson Carmond arrived on Thursday afternoon at the Victorian Quarters headquarters after being summoned to face the stewards.

The development followed Wednesday's raids in Victoria Police on two of the Villers' barns in Varnhambol and Ballarat, as well as the confiscation of police from the four jiggers, unregistered firearms and a substance believed to be cocaine.

At around 9 pm, the three men were seen, leaving Victor's headquarters for Victoria to be questioned by the stewards.

"Victoria Racing (RV) drivers started an investigation this afternoon following a search warrant from the Victorian police yesterday at properties in Balarat and Varnambul, where three licensed participants were arrested in the race and then released without charge.

"Licensed trainers Darren Weir and Jarrod McLean and licensed MP Tyson Kermond attended the PB offices where they were interviewed by the stewards.

"The stewards have postponed their investigation late in the evening to review the information they have available and receive legal advice. A further update is expected to be issued tomorrow."
