Police were called to Townsville University Hospital on Friday at around 3.30pm, an AAP spokesman told AFP.

A four-year-old child was found in a car, the media reported.

Of course, a woman arrived at the hospital with the dead child in the car.

Police officers remain at the scene.

Queensland is currently dealing with a heat wave, and Townsville reached 32.8 C on Friday.
