It will be the end of the years more weak points than the usual Argentinean masses. On inflation, at unemployment and devaluation they are a cocktail in this 2018 year the increased poverty and the situation in the households registered a strong depression the family economy. Christmas products, in this context, are no exception.
According to research NGO for Free Consumers, the average Christmas tree products (sweet bread, chicken, cider, nougat and almonds) rose by 29.5% compared to a year ago.
In some cases, even, the increases were up to 69 percent. Also, the baskets of some large supermarkets have risen to 53 percentage points.
In general, the evolution of the prices of 24 products that make up Christmas basket it is below the accumulated rise in general prices (39.5%) and is far below the inflation assumed for the total year, which would be between 45 and 50 percent.
Among the products that have grown the most are tuna in oil (69%), bananas (66.67%) and kilogram of chicken (57.89%). In order to be able to buy the total products, Free Consumers estimate that an important amount should be withdrawn: 2,561 pesos.
In both, sweet bread rose an average of 21.36 percent, although some brands catapulted to 55.83%.
