History: China has reached the landing of the first moon on the dark side of the moon – 01/03/2015



China managed to implement this Thursday the first landing of the space device on the hidden side of the moon, state media of that Asian country.

The Chang's # 4 module, which was downloaded from Earth on December 8, landed smoothly at 10.26 am Beijing (23.26 in Argentina on Wednesday), the Xinhua news agency reported.

The monthly landing was conducted in the sector that the specialists planned: the Ictken Basin, in the southern pole of the Earth's satellite, where the cretin Aitken is located, which is considered the deepest of the moon and one of the largest in the Milky Way.

"We achieved an extremely precise result, and the landing of the moon was smooth and ideally located in the center of the chosen area," said Son ZZhouou, head of mission, CNSA Engineer of the National Space Administration.

One of the first tasks of the investigation was to send a picture on the surface of the moon of the Queqiao satellite, orbiting the moon.

Unlike the face of the Moon closest to Earth, which is always exposed on our planet, none of the test or scanning modules has ever landed on the surface of the opposite side.

The hidden face is mountainous and hilly, interwoven with craters, while the visible face has numerous flat surfaces to suit.

The state newspaper The Global Times called the successful arrival of Chang's 4 "a major milestone in human research on the universe".

Pioneer space programs such as the Soviet or the American have already achieved more than half a century photo of the hidden face of the moon, but they never landed there, despite the fact that in 1962 a The US unmanned missions tried without success.

One of the bigger challenges is to communicate with the lunar robot. Because the Moon's dark face is oriented in the opposite direction to the Earth, there is no direct "sight-line" for transmitting signals, unless a relay is installed.

Thus, in May, China launched a satellite called Queqiao, positioned in the lunar orbit to transfer orders and data exchanged between the Earth and the module.

Chang's 4 will be held studies of low radio frequencies, cultivation of tomatoes on other planets and mineral resources, among other goals.

The Chang's program (named after a goddess who lives according to Chinese legends on the moon) began the launch of the first orbital investigation in 2007, and since then four devices have been brought to Earth's satellite. more

On the ultimate goal of the program is a long-time mission with a crew on the moon, although the date has not yet been set for this, and some experts are setting it up around 2036.
