The director of Zero Escape reveals a virtual pop idol from the upcoming game

You can recognize Kotaro Uchikoshi from his work directing zero games for games (999, Virtue's Last Prize and Zero Time Dilemma), and you may be familiar with the secret series of Spike Chunsoft Danganronpa. But it seems they make a little unexpected move related to their next game. They promote their own virtual pop idol and influence. What time is it to be alive.

Iris Sagan is also mentioned with her stage names A-set or Tessa, is said to be an important character in the upcoming game of Uchokoshi and Spike Chunsoft AI: Somney Files. It is worth noting that her design comes from the artist Yusuke Kozaki, who is best known for character designs in the Troublesome Awakening (including fates and heroes) and the No More Heroes series.

Obviously, Iris is a big streamer, an internet pop star and an 18-year-old high school student at the same time. And it seems to be active Twitter profile along with a video in which Uchichoshi-san comically introduces the A-set, followed by a kind of music video that characterizes her dancing and singing of an original song (you are free to see yourself below).

I would like to consider myself an authority for digital pop idols, because I still believe that Rise Kujikawa (Persona 4) and Hatsune Miku should be golden standards – so my fantasy makes the bar set quite high. But I will not write off Iris (or A-set), especially if this is related to a larger narrative for AI: Somniev's files.

AI: Somnia files were first detected during the panel of Anime Expo 2018, and Iris was first introduced as a key character. Not much is said about the game itself, but there are similarities with the developer's previous games; you will play as a Canadian Date and investigate a series of killings that will include solving puzzles and gathering evidence that I hope will bring good conclusions. It is set to launch for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC sometime this year.
