Smaller managers again shine in the frenzied bulls

In the difficult investment climate of the last few years, it has been noted that many smaller asset managers in South Africa have been highlighted in performance tables. This was confirmed by the Raging Bull awards on Wednesday evening, which featured the most striking funds and managers in the past three and five years.

Of the six Raging Bull awards presented by South African funds, five have entered into investment funds managed by smaller firms. An exception was the Sunlum Conservative Fund, which won in the Best African Capital Funds category with a risk adjustment for a period of five years.

Most notably, the Fairtree Equity Trust Fund was awarded the title of the best joint venture capital in South Africa on a risk-adjusted basis for the second year. This is a sure achievement at a time when the local market is extremely difficult to navigate.

The winners list of the winning prize is:

Boutique house MI-PLAN won the third place, especially represented by the implementation of the fund for the micro-importer of MI-PLAN IP. This fund received a performance-risk-adjusted certificate from a high-capital fund over the past five years, based in South Africa.

PSG Asset Management took second place in the third year. Although the company has gained significant recognition in recent years, it remains a relatively small player in the industry.
